Compact, low profile, 750W AC-DC supplies with 900W peak power for industrial, test & measurement and healthcare applications

The GSP750 series of 750W continuous / 900W peak, AC-DC power supply units come in a low-profile, 1U-high chassis with a compact 4” x 10” footprint and offer a wealth of features along with class-leading efficiency. The peak power capability of 900W for up to 100ms offers the potential for reduced size and cost in systems employing motors and other electromechanical loads.

Special attention has been given to the GSP750 feature set, created to address many of the issues encountered by system designers when integrating higher power compact power solutions into medical devices, such as surgical, life support and imaging applications, as well as industrial and test & measurement equipment that requires high power density to save space and enable smaller and lighter end products.

Low Profile Compact Size – 254 x 101. x 41.9 mm (10 x 4 x 1.65”)
Suitable for 1U applications
900W Peak Power Rating for up to 100ms with 10% duty cycle
5V/3A Always-On Standby Output
Universal 80 – 264VAC Input, up to 300VAC for 5s
IT/Industrial & Medical Safety Approvals
<1.0W Standby Power When Remote Off Activated
-40°C to +70°C Operation

The GSP750 series comprises a trio of models offering output voltages of 12, 24 and 48 VDC. The 5V standby supply is rated to 3 A, a key requirement in test and measurement applications and an increasing demand in today’s medical devices.

The extended AC input range, from 80VAC to 264Vac (300VAC for 5s), combined with -40°C to +70°C operation, class B conducted and radiated emissions, the very latest industrial & medical immunity standards and global safety agency approvals, makes the product ideal for truly global use in a vast range of environments and supports the most demanding healthcare market applications.

Another essential requirement, when using compact supplies in such applications is the control of audible noise from the equally compact cooling fans. To combat this noise nuisance the GSP750 series employs intelligent fan speed control. The fan speed setting is dependent on the input voltage, load and internal power supply temperature, setting the fan speed to one of four states; High, mid, low or off. The fans are always off when the load falls below 50W, providing silent running and eliminating audible noise during low load or system standby conditions.

To enable this size & performance combination, the series has end to end efficiency in excess of 90% and a very flat efficiency curve across the entire load range resulting in less dissipated heat, smaller size, and extended service life while minimising dissipated heat in the end equipment. This is enabled by employing resonant topologies throughout the design, minimising electrical noise, and synchronous rectification to further reduce losses.

To facilitate and support system controls & diagnostics, the supply also includes a power-fail signal, signal level on/off control of the output as well as the always-on 5 V standby output to supply system logic. Remote sense and current sharing for up three units are also included as standard.
