Our industrial products are designed to satisfy the legislative and safety requirements that are unique to the industrial sector. XP’s product range covers applications in factory automation, automated test equipment, industrial control, test and measurement, instrumentation, hazardous environments and defense. Our team of technical sales specialists is well versed in the individual needs of your specific sector.
Whether your system demands high peak loads for motors, extended temperature range for outdoor applications, field replaceable fans or the need to operate in hazardous environments, you will find a solution from our broad range of industrial power supplies.
In systems requiring more than one output, start up, shutdown and sequencing of outputs is often desirable. Our modular power supplies are fitted with isolated control signals which allow for remote and independent manipulation of the outputs.
Addressing Your Requirements
No power supply manufacturer is as pro-active as XP Power when it comes to responding to your requirements. Here are a few examples of how XP has responded to customer input:
High Peak Load
Customers who had been buying power supplies that were sized for the peak loads their motors demanded, needed much less continuous power after start up. Our SMQ and SMC series are XP Power’s response to this requirement. Our 300 Watt power supply (SMQ300 series) provides up to 560 Watts of power for short durations.
Extended Temperature Range
Many of our DIN Rail customers needed a power supply that could provide 70 to 75% of its rated power at 70 ºC. Our DNR series of DIN Rail power supplies (from 5 to 480 Watts) not only meets this requirement, but also offers a detachable connector option that dramatically reduces the time to replace a power supply in your system.
Output Sequencing
System startup and shutdown are not always as easy as flipping a switch. Today’s systems need voltages to power up and power down in specific sequences with specified timing. XP Power’s modular series supplies are fitted with isolated control signals which allow for remote and independent manipulation of the outputs.
Power Supply Health
Is the fan spinning at the right speed? Are the critical components running at an acceptable temperature? XP Power’s digital interface allows for remote status of the power supplies condition, helping our customers manage their systems proactively and reducing the potential for downtime.
Smaller Size
Almost every customer asks us about size reduction. XP Power has responded with some of the densest products in the market.
EMC Compliance
XP Power offers a wide range of MIL-COTS AC/DC and DC/DC products that enable a designer to easily meet key industry standards such as MIL-STD461E/F, 1275A-D,704A-F & 810F, DEF STAN 59-41 & 61-5 and DO160
All products are commercial off the shelf (COTS) items and available from stock or on short leadtimes.

Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) is a term for components which are manufactured commercially, readily available, and are non-development items. This term is most often used in military systems. COTS systems are in contrast to systems that are produced entirely and uniquely for the specific application and therefore offer potentially large cost and time savings.
Most COTS items are not produced for the defense market. This means they either need to be modified or the user must accept some level of commercial or technical risk such as obsolescence, process changes, environmental, electrical performance or EMI issues when designing them into a system. Also, due to the relatively small volumes used in the defense industry, compared with industrial, consumer or telecoms markets, companies are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain the level of technical support they demand for high reliability programs.
XP Power provides COTS products designed specifically for the defense and avionics market. Our systems and people are geared to support these markets.
XP Power also has a wide range of standard power products sold to medical, industrial and telecoms customers many of these products can be used or adapted for defense and avionic applications.
