RoHS Statement

Directive 2011/65/EU

The Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Directive

The primary purpose of the Directive is the prevention of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and requires the re-use, recycling and other forms of recovery of such waste so as to reduce its disposal to landfill or incineration.

A PRODUCER is anyone who:

Manufactures and sells electrical and electronic equipment under his own brand
  • Resells under his own brand equipment produced by other suppliers
  • Imports or exports electrical and electronic equipment on a professional basis into a Member State
  • WEEE covers a number of items:

    Small household appliances
  • Large household appliances
  • IT and telecommunications equipment
  • Consumer equipment
  • Lighting
  • Electrical and electronic tools (except large scale stationary industrial tools)
  • Toys, leisure and sport equipment
  • Medical devices (with the exception of implanted and infected products)
  • Automatic dispensers
  • XP Power has identified that our external power supplies and single phase UPS < 3 k VA fall within the scope of the WEEE directive (DTI Guidance paragraph 18 & 19). Products placed on the market after 13th August 2005 will be marked with the 'wheelie bin' symbol in accordance with EN50419.

Under Producer Responsibility companies will have the option of delegating their responsibilities to a collective compliance scheme. In order to comply with the WEEE Directive XP Power has elected to follow this route and is a member of B2B Compliance. This scheme is operated by GAMBICA B2B Compliance Ltd, an initiative of the GAMBICA Association Ltd.
